This ain't your gramma's embroidery...

is the slogan of this little gem of a website, Sublime Stitching. And when I mean "little gem," I actually mean that they larger than life in the indie craft community.

I love this place! They were one of the first places I found when dabbling with the idea of hand stitching. They have everything; funky patterns, kits, tools, and textiles. And best of all, when you contact them via e-mail, you usually get a quick, friendly response.

If you're at all interested, "friend" them on facebook. Their posts are super informative. Below, I'm posting some of my favorite patterns. I one day hope to sit down and stitch away at them. Here is a link to their website: www.sublimestitching.com

Meet "Henry"

I was privileged to work with an awesome designer out of New Zealand, named Shaye Boddington. I've worked with her on various projects, and it all originally started with one of her little characters named "Sam."

Sam was a character out of a book she wrote titled "Beyond the Green." Since then, "Sam" evolved to "Henry," (a peacock like character who has now become part of the logo for this blog). Thanks so much Shaye!

Ducklings...

I LOVE vintage embroidery patterns, and I find that others do too. There's just something about being transported back in time to where it all started. I just can't resist the cute patterns that I've seen. I've posted some pillowcases that I stitched up a while ago. Ducks rank at the top of my list.

Welcome to my blog!

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Stephanie, and I have experimented in paper, jewelry, sewing, letterpress, gocco, and many other types of crafts, but my true love is hand embroidery. It seems that it's what I do best. The goal of this blog is to share my creations, as well as the creations of others. If you have some pics that you'd like to share, feel free to contact me. I can't wait to get started.
